Cadbury's creme egg

This shrieks creme egg colours to me! I didn't mean it to. The Barry M has been washed out by the flash but I'm sure you know what I mean. The lines were meant to be crisp but I had trouble again with the line guides. This time it was polish seeping underneath! But the mess doesn't offend me on this occasion. If I said I'd planned it that way there are many who would believe me. I think I'm not removing the guides fast enough.

Barry M Coral/Color Club Electronica/sundry glitters

Has to be the most sickly confection ever conceived! *shudders*

I loathe creme eggs. I don't like Cadbury's (sorry, KRAFT!) chocolate generally (did you know they've moved a lot of production to Poland?). I eat Lindt 90%. This is because I'm on the Harcombe diet. But diets are boring even when they do work so we won't pursue that.

That's better!

Favourite chocolate (if applicable)?
Lots of people find varnishes that are reminiscent of the Cadbury branding. Barry M Vivid Purple is a good candidate. D'you have one?

Mavala Sparkling Red

Dontcha just love it when companies go to such trouble to name their polishes?
Hm...

Supposedly red holo glitter. This is over Glitter Gal Light as a Feather and Color Club mini Silver Glitter. Not sure if it looks as if I have a disease/fungal infection/shingles/bubonic plague. Hey, I was too lazy to do a fresh mani so what do I expect?

The Mavala is quite gritty and does need one layer of topcoat. Not two. One.

Color Club Orange Revenge + accent swirl

I've read the phrase 'retina-searing' before. Now I know what it truly means. Took the dogs for a walk in the April sunshine and nearly blinded myself when I glimpsed my very own fingers. Crikey.

Coupla coats. Three? Not sure. But I can see some VNL. That bothers me not one jot.

The 'swirl' is where I was trying to add white and make a gradient but the consistency was thicker than an Irish bog in a relatively mild spring with added algae so I had to cut my losses and slop W7 Earthquake White over it. What a globby mess. But it turns out that is reminiscent of peach slices in syrup (you know those tins) with single cream spooned in. I hate it when people do that. Makes me feel a bit sick. But it isn't actually that bad. Impressionist brushwork? Explosion in paint factory?

Color Club Silver Glitter and an impending blog sale...

This is a really dense glitter. Even a single coat covers really well. I actually wanted more of the Rock to show through but the glitter has good coverage and isn't as gritty as you might imagine.

Part of a Teeny Halloweenies mini-set I ebayed. Under a tenner for 4 minis.

Just can't help myself....Waiting for a Models Own trio I've asosed. Or should that be asossed? I'm not sure.

Just some of the polishes that will be on sale next week. Zoya, BB Couture, American Apparel etc...

Color Club Feel The Beat

My first Color Club. 2 coats. The index finger is mattified with another colour over half the nail but the other colour wasn't enough of a contrast so that was a fail. But this is one heck of a shiny, easy polish. Problems? Yes, tip shrinkage but I tried 2 new products under the CC so I may have to blame the chemical combination. And chipping after 2 days - may again be related to new Mavala ridge-filler (only one to be found in Boots).

Yes, I know it came out ages ago but I got this for £8.99 plus £2.49 P&P. Yes, that's right. Less than £11.50 all in!!! If you're in the US you can have NO IDEA what a bargain that is. Stuff generally is mega-expensive over here with nail polish no exception. I know Color Club is not a premium brand but it has a high reputation over here nonetheless and I have seen some great swatches. I couldn't pass this up at that price. Evidently I was not the only one. It's all sold out now (ebay) so no point giving you the link.

The Vitabase product (far right) is great too and makes a good base. I am now hunting for CC in a BIIIIIG way. Luckily they are now stocked by: http://www.venusnailsupplies.co.uk/ This is a company I can recommend. The P&P is a bit steep but the polish prices are low so make sure you order plenty.

What Color Club can you recommend? (international readers)
Does Color Club interest you sufficiently to seek it out? (UK readers)
