Really bright and yellow. Love this and it's a lot brighter and a little warmer IRL.

3 easy coats. Not bad for £2.34.

Got another gold for you tomorrow but quite, quite different.

Gold or silver? Which suits you better? Both in nail and jewellery terms.

The Edge Costa Rica

So short of time. Slapped 1 coat of Costa Rica over the ELF. I got me an autumnal mani which would hold its own in the China Glaze VV collection but The Edge polishes are £1.99. They can be found on ebay and their own website but there aren't many shades and some crackers have been discontinued. They do more acrylics and gels and so on than polishes. I love their stuff though.

No more to be said.

OK, let's go with the brown theme...after a fashion.

Wartime obviously. Cavalry officers (why?) and ladies be-ribboned and be-gloved. How I dislike that nail shape. But there is a lot of brown.

I am hankering after browns and camels. What can you recommend? And to what extent will you be going the camel-route (metaphorically speaking) in terms of clothing this autumn?

The Edge Costa Rica and Barry M Navy

I have decided that brown and blue are good together. Like this....

Shiny, huh? Yes, there's top coat. I would say these are even shinier IRL. The brown with gold/bronze glitter is great in the sun. Both go on easily. 2 coats for the Navy and 3 for the brown.

And a bottle pic - not of the Barry M though because I couldn't get a good pic PLUS it looks nowhere near as good in bottle as on the nail anyway PLUS you all know what Barry M looks like PLUS you could find a pic in another blog or nailgal

I enhanced this so it looks a shade lighter than IRL but it is sunny here so it's fairly close to authenticity


The RH is doing something other (comme toujours) and will be shown tomorrow.

Rimmel Green with Envy v The Edge Barcelona (dupes)

Here goes.
2 polishes that look alike in the bottle and even more so on the nail.

And...

This was becoming another big fat fail...
Both polishes went on well. 2 coats each was plenty.
The Rimmel was on index and little, The Edge on middle and ring
They looked fun, bright and deffo dupes.


Oh no! 
As soon as I applied CG Freeze Dry to the Edge nails I got hideous warping and shrinkage. Up to the point it was the superior polish and would have been opaque with 1 careful coat.
What to do? I added GOSH Rainbow.
It shows its bronze-gold aspects in this context so I'm happy enough.
The weather is a bit dreary so this is a bright mani and cheering.
The Rimmel is a teeny bit brush-stroke-city but possibly less than I was expecting.
The Barcelona is a great polish but I'm going to avoid the Fast Freeze next time.

I made a right c0ck-up on a couple because I was in a rush and then I got a hair caught in one and so on and so forth but they managed to even themselves out

Well, 2 of them seem to be anyway.

As always this mani looks better IRL, I can assure you!

OPI and The Edge London

I loved yesterday's muted Eyeko colours but I mean to do a post per day so I have to do something - for which see below.

So I put my unnamed OPI over Tea Rose and The Edge (London shade) over the Posh

I got the OPI from ebay. It has no label but I think it might be Blushingham Palace....I was so excited to buy something in this way - could be a pig-in-a-poke but this is lovely!
The Edge is a brand you don't see much. I just opened the parcel and I have only layered it, not used it as a stand-alone but I tell you what - it has some fierce sparkle in it. So here comes a blurry pic.

How about that? In the bottle it looks like a peachy shade with fine glitter. On the nail there is pronounced red and blue. I am going to get some more from this brand.


Putting a glitter layer over creme helps ridged nails but the Eyeko did a good job of smoothing out my canyons and gullied. The Posh is (I am guessing) some kind of YDKJ polish and really impresses me as does the muted pink.

And in the sun. My new short nails are so much more comfortable. My sense of touch is greatly improved. When nails grow much beyond the finger I think it reduces sensitivity. Certainly for me.


Do you buy polishes on the basis of nothing more than a blurry photo? Or for the sake of a name? Or do you need to hold it in your hand or have a number of testimonials?
